English Programs

Every language path starts with a placement test; the student is then directed to General English or to IELTS/TOEFL preparation based on their academic goal.

Direct answers

What students ask about English programs

Who is the General English program for?

Students who need a language foundation before exam preparation, or who want to use English confidently in study, work and daily life. We start with a placement assessment so the starting point is measured, not guessed.

What is the difference between General English and test preparation?

General English builds the underlying skill: vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Test preparation builds that skill inside one exam's format, timing and question style. A student with a weak foundation usually gains more by starting with General English.

Learning journey

From assessment to using the language

  1. Placement

An assessment that measures skills and sets the level the student starts from.

  2. Goal setting

Is the goal general fluency or a certificate required for admission? The answer sets the track.

  3. Training

Structured skill work with continuous practice, not grammar alone.

  4. Practice and feedback

Writing and speaking with direct feedback on recurring mistakes.

  5. Re-measurement

A later assessment shows progress and what still needs work.

  6. Academic step

Connecting the language level to the admission plan and the test required.

Clarity

What we do and what you do

What we do with you

  • Establish your current level and build a path on it.
  • Train the skills with specific feedback.
  • Point you to the right exam track when needed.

What stays outside our control

  • Practising between classes.
  • Attending consistently.
  • Using the language outside class.

Where to start

General English or test preparation?

  1. If you understand more than you can sayStart with general English focused on productionThe gap is between reception and production, and it closes with regular speaking and writing rather than more grammar.
  2. If you have a test date and a stable language levelMove straight to the test preparation trackPreparation adds strategy, pacing and accuracy under timing on top of a level you already have.
  3. If you need English for work or daily lifeGeneral English with practical content fits bestThe focus is real situations: correspondence, meetings and face-to-face communication.
  4. If you are not sure of your level at allStart with a placement assessmentThe result sets your starting point and the one skill that will move fastest.

A placement assessment settles this in practice, because it measures the four skills rather than a personal impression.

How a level progresses

Stages of language progress

  1. At the start

    Placement

A skills assessment to find the right starting point.

  2. First phase

    Foundation and confidence

Building the missing base and removing hesitation to speak.

  3. Second phase

    Real use

Using the language in situations close to your real need.

  4. After that

    Specialising

Moving into an academic track or an exam track if your goal requires it.

Progress speed differs between students; we do not promise a fixed duration.

Checklists

Before choosing your program level

Define your goal

  • Is your goal academic, professional or general?
  • Will you need a language certificate later?
  • Which skill blocks you today: speaking, writing or listening?
  • How much time can you give weekly?

Habits that speed progress

  • Using the language daily, even briefly.
  • Logging your recurring mistakes.
  • Reading or listening to content in your own field of interest.
  • Speaking without fear of errors.

Learner challenges

Why many learners plateau

  • Studying grammar in isolation from use.A rule is introduced then immediately used in speech or a short text until it sticks.
  • Avoiding speaking for fear of mistakes.Correction follows the attempt rather than interrupting it, so fluency and accuracy build in the right order.
  • Memorising vocabulary lists without context.A word is learned inside a sentence and a situation, with spaced review to retain it.
  • Measuring progress by feeling instead of measurement.Periodic re-assessment shows the real movement in each skill and re-tunes the plan.

Terminology

What we mean by "General English"

General English
Building the language ability itself: vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking and writing — for study, everyday and professional use, without being tied to any one test format.
Language level
A description of what you can actually do with the language (understand, express, write), established by a placement test at the start of the track.
Fluency vs accuracy
Fluency is being able to express yourself without long pauses; accuracy is grammatical and lexical correctness. A good track develops both, because focusing on only one shows clearly in tests and interviews.

Honest fit

When General English is not the best fit

  • If you have a test date approaching and need training on that specific format, the IELTS or TOEFL track fits better.
  • If your level is already advanced and you only need to sharpen academic writing for an application.
  • If your real goal is choosing a university and preparing the file, start from the University Admissions service.

Next step

What happens after you get in touch

None of these steps commits you to anything, and we do not ask for payment before the recommended path is clear to you.

  1. 1. You message us on WhatsApp or send the consultation form

Tell us your name, your study stage, your goal, and the deadline you are working towards if you have one. Every WhatsApp button on the site reaches the same center number.

  2. 2. A free academic consultation

A short conversation to understand where you are and what you are aiming at: what you have already tried, how much time you have, and what this track actually measures.

  3. 3. A skill-by-skill placement test

You take a placement test that shows what you can actually do in each skill rather than a single overall number, and we build your learning priorities on it.

  4. 4. A written recommended path, then you decide

We summarise what we recommend and why, and what the alternative is if this track is not the right fit — including the possibility that you do not need the service right now.

Student stories

Student success stories

We publish student stories only with their name and written consent, and we state an outcome only when it is documented by an official score report or admission letter held by the center.

No stories are published on this page yet

We would rather leave this space empty than write testimonials on anyone's behalf. It stays empty until a student shares their own story and permits us to publish their name and documented outcome.

FAQ

Questions students and parents ask

What is the difference between General English and test preparation?

General English builds the language itself: vocabulary, grammar, listening and speaking for everyday and academic situations. Test preparation channels existing language into a specific exam format such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Should I start with General English or go straight to test preparation?

That is decided after a placement assessment. If the language base is not yet sufficient, starting with General English gets results faster than going straight into exam drilling.

Is instruction in Arabic or English?

Explanation and academic guidance are available in Arabic, while language practice is built up in English according to the student's level.

Is General English suitable for complete beginners?

Yes, and the placement test sets the right starting point so you do not begin with material above or below your level.

Does General English help if I plan to take IELTS later?

Usually yes. A strong foundation makes test preparation shorter and more effective, because time goes into strategy rather than closing basic gaps.

What will I actually do in the sessions?

Work across the four skills with graded material: guided reading, listening with note-taking, speaking practice, and writing with feedback on your recurring errors.
