Digital SAT score calculator

Enter your correct answers for each module of a practice test and choose your second-module route to get an approximate section score (200–800) and total score (400–1600).

Quick answer

Your total SAT score is the sum of the Reading and Writing and Math section scores, each on a 200–800 scale. Reading and Writing has two 27-question modules and Math has two 22-question modules. Because the test is adaptive, the difficulty of module 2 affects your score, so any unofficial calculator gives an estimate only.

How to use the SAT score calculator

  1. Finish a full practice test, ideally an official one in the Bluebook app.
  2. Count correct answers in each of the four modules. Wrong answers are not penalised.
  3. Choose whether module 2 was the harder or easier route. If unsure, the harder route usually follows a strong module 1.
  4. Read the estimated range and compare it with your target universities' requirements.

How the digital SAT is scored

The digital SAT uses item response theory (IRT): questions do not carry equal weight, and your score reflects which questions you answered correctly and how difficult they were. Two students with the same number of correct answers can receive different scores. Use this calculator to track progress between practice tests, not as a precise prediction.

FAQ

SAT score calculator FAQ

Is this calculator official?

No. College Board does not publish a fixed conversion table for the digital SAT because questions carry different weights. This calculator gives an approximate estimate for practice; your official score appears only in your score report.

How many questions are on the digital SAT?

98 questions: 54 in Reading and Writing (2 modules × 27) and 44 in Math (2 modules × 22).

Are wrong answers penalised?

No. There is no penalty for wrong answers, so it is best to answer every question.

Why does module 2 affect my score?

The digital SAT is adaptive by module: your module 1 performance sets the difficulty of module 2, and the easier route usually limits access to the top of the scale.

What is a good SAT score for universities?

It depends on the university and programme. Always check each university's official admissions page; Apostrophe advisers can help compare your score with requirements in Türkiye and Malaysia.
