Yıldız Technical University is located in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Istanbul is Türkiye's largest city and economic centre, with more universities than anywhere else in the country, spread across both sides of the Bosphorus. It has an extensive metro, bus and ferry network and a large international student population, and living and housing costs are generally higher than in other Turkish cities.
Yıldız Technical University is a state institution within Türkiye's higher-education system.
Higher education in Türkiye is regulated by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Universities are either state (devlet) universities or private institutions formally called foundation (vakıf) universities. Both are state-recognised; the practical differences are funding, fees and the admission route, not the recognition of the degree.
The directory documents 44 specialisations across 10 faculties, led by Faculty of Education, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
The full list is in the faculties and specialisations section on this page, and every name comes from the university's own website.
Yes — Yıldız Technical University maintains an international-student page on its own website, and that page is the authoritative source for requirements, documents and deadlines. Conditions vary by programme and study level.
An international student obtains a student visa from a Turkish consulate on the basis of the admission letter, then applies after arrival for a student residence permit from the Presidency of Migration Management. The requirements and fees are set by those authorities and change; we check them at source at the time of applying.
Requirements are set per programme and level, and normally include the previous certificate, transcripts and language evidence, plus certificate equivalence (Denklik). The binding requirements are the ones on the university's own admissions page.
High-school certificate, or the previous degree certificate, with transcripts. · Certificate equivalence (Denklik) from the Turkish education authorities at final registration. · Valid passport. · Proof of the language level the programme requires (English or Turkish). · An entrance-exam result where the university asks for one (for example YÖS, or SAT in some programmes).
