What to do now
- Install the official Bluebook app and sit one full practice test inside it before anything else.
- Practise on screen, not on paper: reading from a screen is a separate skill.
- Learn the app's tools (timer, question flagging, built-in calculator) before test day.
The official facts
The SAT is taken inside the Bluebook app on a computer or tablet at an authorised test centre, and consists of a Reading and Writing section and a Math section, each in two modules, where the second module's difficulty depends on how you did in the first. These facts come from College Board's and Bluebook's official pages on the verification date shown above.
What we change in a student's plan
Because the second module depends on the first, accuracy early in a section matters more than trying to finish everything. We train students to secure the questions they can do first, then return to the flagged ones. And because everything is on screen, we drop paper practice entirely in the final weeks.
- Error review comes from the app's own report rather than a separate notebook.
- Extended on-screen reading practice is scheduled at least twice a week.
- We check the student's device and settings a week before the sitting, not the night before.
