What to do now
- Get the required version and score from the university or institution in writing before booking.
- Book directly with the official centre and make sure the name matches your ID exactly.
- Count the results window against your application deadline before booking, not after.
The official routes
The exam's owners publish the list of authorised test centres for each country. In Saudi Arabia IELTS is booked through the British Council or IDP depending on the city and the version. Any other site offering "IELTS booking" is not an official source, and fees and dates must be read from the centre's own page.
The mistake that costs a second fee
We see this repeatedly: a student books General Training when the university requires Academic, or books a computer-delivered sitting when the receiving body accepts paper only. Fees are generally non-refundable in that case and the only fix is to sit the test again. One minute of checking before booking prevents it.
